Styled Shoot: Fairytale Storybook Inspired Baby Shower

blog0209

I wanted to create a extraordinary styled shoot for all those moms to be! With my partner in crime, Jamie Thrower, from Studio 13 Designs, we set out on a venture for a majestical shower.

Everything in this shoot was DIY. What is my secret for all these amazing paper products? The silhouette cameo. It does amazing things. Also, glitter.. of course! The photo below shows some of the things that I created. The chair was simply different types of ribbons tied onto the back. I like to use different textures to make it pop a little bit more! The invitation was created on the Cameo Cutter. All the paper is from Paper Source. Really focusing on the tiny details, will make a huge difference on the overall event.

Jamie was able to to do exactly what I visualized when it came to the flowers. We wanted to use flowers that were in season in Fall. She used gorgeous eucalyptus branches, cream colored Dahlias, Hydrangeas, pink roses, Thistle and Dusty Miller Leaves. We used Cinderella (Yes, they are really called that!) and white pumpkins that we got from Whole Foods. We covered a crown that we picked up from the party store with chunky glitter to give it a more expensive look. Finally we put together the dessert table (my favorite part!)

The dessert table is composed of a plain desk table, old books we got from home, the library (they sell books all the time!) & thrift shops. All the food was from local grocery stores. The way to create a great table is really focusing on your levels. I used books to create levels and I filled in the empty spaces with more of the leafy flowers and baby’s breath to create this look.  Also below are the games we created. When creating games for a baby shower try to do a variety of guessing, trivia, interactive, etc.
